Capella’s portfolio of intelligent subsystems provide wavelength management solutions for use in Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) and Optical Cross Connect (OXC) applications. The intelligent subsystems deliver the highest level of functional integration in a compact and cost effective subsystem, and support both metro and long haul applications.
In addition to operating effectively independent of data transmission rate and format, Capella’s products integrate typically discrete functions such as multiplexing, demultiplexing, hitless wavelength reconfiguration (allowing multiple wavelengths to be directed to any output port in any combination), dynamic channel equalization, wavelength and power monitoring, channel blocking, and channel configuration verification. With this unique architecture, Capella’s WSSs offer the only complete feature set for wavelength provisioning, monitoring and protection.
Through its patented Closed-Loop Control Systems, Capella’s intelligent subsystems maintain optimal coupling and ITU alignment over all operating conditions. By automatically compensating for environmental changes, this closed-loop control system ensures reliable operation over the lifetime of the product.
The CR50 and CR100
The Capella CR50 is designed for metro optical networks. It is available as a 10 port solution, configurable to either add or drop functionality (i.e., 1x9 or 9x1), and supports up to 45/96 channels in the C-band/L-band spaced at 50GHz/100GHz.
