Capella Announces Telcordia Qualification of WavePath® 4500

SAN JOSE, CA – March 27, 2007 – Capella, the leading provider of wavelength selective switches (WSS) for use in reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) and optical cross connect (OXC) applications, today announced the qualification of its WavePath® 4500 with integrated optical channel monitor (OCM) in accordance with Telcordia and other worldwide standards.

Tests performed and passed followed guidelines set forth in GR-468, GR-1312, GR-63, GR-1073, FOTP-11, ETS 300 and other appropriate or required standards.”

The WavePath® 4500 with integrated OCM offers the best performing 9x1 or 1x9 WSS functionality in the industry featuring the widest passbands and lowest insertion loss, maximizing cascadeability of transparent nodes and minimizing amplification costs. The integrated OCM provides power monitoring, center wavelength monitoring, signal-to-noise ratio variance and the unique diagnostic ability to verify all connections through the subsystem --Capella’s patented Wavelength Connectivity Confirmation.
